This is part of the “Treasures of the Duchess” collection produced by Kenneth Jay Lane, following the death and auction of the many, meany jewels owned by the Duchess of Windsor. She famously inspired England’s King Edward VIII to give up his throne, and afterwards, they lived abroad and he lavished her with jewels.
This piece represents the flamingo pin made by Cartier. It comes in the distinctive red box with the “WE” monogram used by the Duke and Duchess of Windsor. It is so striking, with its bright clear pave set stones and the rich bright channel set colored stones making up the bird’s plumage.
It measures 2.75 tall x 1.75 inches wide and is in excellent condition. It comes with the original paperwork.
